Favorite Wedding Day Getting Ready Outfits

I’m a huge sucker for the getting-ready part of a wedding day. I know people think it’s a totally pointless part of the wedding, but everything from the mimosas and make up, to the matching outfits and corny photos just make me smile.

I truly believe that it is a special time for a bride to just hang out with my best friends, get a little pampered and start her big day off in the best way possible.

To make your wedding day morning even better, I definitely encourage you to check out all the great options there are now for brides and bridesmaids when it comes to getting ready outfits.

While I’m always partial to a great robe, there are seriously tons of new trends now that fit any bride’s style and budget. Here are just a few of my favorites, as well as some newer trends I think are truly great!

Robes

I opted for robes for my wedding day morning, and got all my girls matching navy blue ones from The Knot’s online shop, while I got myself a white one from a great Esty shop.

Since I had seven bridesmaids, the budget was a little tight for gifts. Luckily, I was able to scope up these waffle robes during a great sale and saved a ton of money. If you have time, I would wait to make big purchases like this during a big holiday weekend sale, like Memorial Day for instance, to get the most savings.

The robes worked for most of my girls, but they were a little short on my especially tall friends. Luckily we didn’t do too much walking around in them, and most girls brought some shorts or leggings to wear underneath while we moved from the hotel to the venue.

For my robe, I knew I wanted something a little unique, as well as longer in length so I felt comfortable in it all day. I immediately fell in love with this shop I found on Etsy and their gorgeous robes with amazing lace detail.

My mom actually bought me this robe as a Christmas gift and I was so excited to finally be able to wear it on my wedding day.

I think robes are the easiest and sometimes most budget-friendly option when it comes to dressing a lot of girls for the morning of your wedding. My other suggestion is to always go with a cotton fabric and avoid the shiny, silk ones. These can be really overwhelming when photographed, and are usually slippery and hard to keep tied together. Cotton robes are the most flattering on all your girls and they will be way more likely to re-wear them again once the big day is over.

Oversized Tees

I’ve been some super cute oversized tees for brides and bridesmaids, but sadly they are usually out of my budget. However, if your budget does allow for it, these are some amazing options to consider.

My favorite ones are from Show Me Your Mumu and are seriously the cutest way to get ready with your besties on your big day!

Show Me Your Mumu | Benji Tunic Tee ~ Bride

They also have some super cute pink tees for your maid of honor and bridesmaids so everyone can get ready in style.

I really love these adorable Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom tees too! How cute would these be as gifts for your mom and future MIL to wear the day of the wedding?!

Lastly, I am loving these new Benji tees that let you pick out the perfect shirt for each of your girls! They’re almost like superlatives for bridesmaids, and even better, these are so ready to wear again after the wedding day is done.

There’s also a tee made for just for a bride that says, “The One That Found The One” too!

No matter what wedding style you’re going for, these tees are super fun, comfy and great for all of your girls! Definitely go to Show Me Your Mumu to check out all of their options.

Mix & Match

My friend Brooke has the genius idea of letting her bridesmaids pick their own getting-ready outfit from the same Pretty Plum Sugar collection, so that we all still matched while also each getting to wear the item we felt the most comfortable in.

I especially loved the pattern Brooke had us pick from and thought it was perfect for a fall wedding! This collection is called Camino and is available in a ton of different styles for all your girls.

Honorable Mention: T-Shirts

I’m usually not a fan of matching t-shirts, but these “After This We’re Getting Pizza” tees have me swooning!
