I just returned from an amazing weekend spent in Lake Travis, Texas, celebrating my best friend Molly’s fiesta themed bachelorette party!
It was a truly wonderful weekend filled with chips & queso, bottled rosé and so many amazing memories!
Here’s just a quick look at our incredible weekend exploring Austin and Lake Travis.
Lake Travis is about 50 minutes outside of Austin, Texas, and is a gorgeous lake-side community. Our bride-to-be has been living in Houston for the last few years and has visited Austin plenty of times, so she was looking for a more unique location to bring all her friends to for her bachelorette party. Lake Travis had plenty to offer and still gave us great accessibility to Austin while not putting us right in the middle of the craziness.
Most of the group arrived on Thursday and we met up at Spider House in Austin for some pre-celebration drinks while we waited to check into our AirBnB. For so many of us East Coast girls who left a snow storm to come to Texas, sitting outside in the sunshine and sipping 32 oz. margaritas was a dream come true!
After a few more drinks at Spider House, we headed to our AirBnB (we had a DD, don’t worry!) and were so excited to see the adorable Lago Vista beach house! The incredible views of the lake were priceless and the many bedrooms, bathrooms and outdoor decks were perfect for our group.
Our bride was so sweet and got all the girls in our group these adorable gift bags filled with RX Bars, make up wipes, hair ties, gum and Advil, plus these awesome “Cheers Bitches” trucker hats!
We also ordered everyone custom stadium cups from Totally Promotional, which were so ideal for our boat day later in the weekend.
After getting unpacked and setting up our fiesta decorations, we headed to the nearby dock bar, Gnarly Gar, for some great frozen margaritas, $1 jello shots and plenty of chips & queso!
The rest of our group wasn’t arriving until Friday evening, so our initial plan for Friday was to explore the nearby beaches around our AirBnb. However, the clouds were a little too strong, so we instead slept in and then made our way into town for coffee at Latte Vista – the cutest coffee shop you need to check out! – and then stocked up on groceries for the weekend.
After getting back to the house, we popped open the rosé and did some day drinking on our rooftop deck. While it wasn’t our initial plan for the day, it turned out being the perfect day of sweatpants, potato chips, wine and plenty of catching up with old friends.
After a late lunch cook out at our place, we finished decorating the house and got ready for the rest of our crew to arrive with pizza! Since the other girls didn’t arrive until late, we spent the rest of the night enjoying cheesy bread, plenty of wine and some amazing bachelorette party games.
Saturday was our big day on Lake Travis, so we woke up early for one more booze run and then got ready for our day on the boat! We rented our boat from Wave in Water and couldn’t have been more pleased with the awesome experience we had with Capt. Michael! The boat was the perfect size for our group and the sun came out just as we arrived in Devil’s Cove.
We anchored up with other bachelorette and bachelor parties in Devil’s Cove and ended up staying there until almost 6 PM! The day flew by but it was seriously more fun than we could have imagined.
Although the water was freeeeezing, a few brave souls jumped in, and I was proud to see that we emptied our entire cooler except for one box of wine.
After arriving back at Lago Vista, we quickly changed clothes and kept the party going back at the Gnarly Gar with some fried food and an amazing live band!
Sunday morning we woke up early and headed into Austin for one last amazing meal together! I had been to Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile before and knew it would be the perfect spot for us to end a fabulous weekend.
Not only is the restaurant so adorable, but the food is incredible too! Despite us all swearing we couldn’t have one more drink, we all ended up enjoying mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and a the restaurant’s special Spicy Texan beverage.
After tons of cinnamon rolls, scones, pancakes, mac & cheese and fries, it was finally time to say goodbye to Austin. This #finalfiesta weekend could not have been more perfect, and if you’re looking for a quiet spot close to Austin to spend a girls weekend, Lake Travis is definitely the place you want to be!
