I’ve been waiting for so long to write this post about my best friend’s incredible destination wedding at the Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Jamaica!
When I first started helping Molly plan her destination wedding, we knew we were looking for an amazing resort that would be the perfect place for all her favorite people to relax, unwind and have an unforgettable vacation. When Molly showed me Rockhouse Hotel, I knew she had found the one.
Rockhouse features breathtaking views from its cliff-side villas, restaurants and pool – photos truly don’t do this place justice.
Much like her bachelorette party, Molly wanted her wedding to be a low-key occasion that let her friends and family enjoy their own time in Jamaica, with a little wedding celebration mixed in.
The few days before the actual wedding day Molly and Scott’s families hosted some awesome happy hours and receptions to help everyone meet and mingle.
The Rockhouse Hotel did an amazing job providing incredible signature drinks, appetizers, live music and more to make each event feel so unique and special!
The rest of the days were also spent lounging by the cliff-side pool, snorkling in the crystal clear blue waters, jumping off a few cliffs and visiting the pool bar many, many times.
The actual day of the wedding couldn’t have been more gorgeous! We started the day with mimosas and pampering as the rest of the guests lounged by the pool and explored the nearby beaches.
Every bride needs a getting ready robe, and Molly’s pink and white cotton robe from Pretty Plum Sugar was the perfect outfit to wear while getting ready in the 90 degree Jamaican heat. Also must give a HUGE shout out to Molly’s friend Robin who did an amazing job on Molly’s wedding day make up!
Molly and Scott created the cutest welcome bags for all their guests that included koozies, sunglasses, paper fans for the ceremony, sunscreen and aloe vera and some Advil for those who partied too hard.
Molly and Scott decided to not have a traditional wedding party. Instead, Scott has his best friend serve as their ring bearer, and Molly’s best friend was their flower girl. Molly had Haley and I help her get ready in the morning, and to make our role as unofficial bridesmaids more official, we picked up these tropical rompers from Target to wear while getting ready.
Every day that week there had been a rain storm roll through around 3 PM, which was exactly when we were planning to do our first look and portraits. We couldn’t believe our luck that we were able to get all the photos we wanted without a single drop of rain falling, even though storm clouds were rolling ahead the entire time. It truly was the luckiest day!
Molly and Scott’s ceremony took place right on the edge of the ocean, which made the absolute perfect backdrop for their heartfelt vows and “I do’s.”
Right after the ceremony, Molly and Scott’s guests went to the Rockhouse Pool Bar for an unforgettable cocktail hour complete with Rum Punch, a live steel drum band and the more gorgeous sunset.
After the cocktail hour, guests walked to Rockhouse’s Pushcart Restaurant for the night’s reception. The most delicious family style dinner was served, and guests spent the rest of the night dancing under the stars.
It was truly the most magical weekend at Rockhouse Hotel and I couldn’t recommend the resort more. Thank you Rockhouse for giving Molly and Scott the most memorable wedding weekend and for making all their wedding dreams come true. Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Mummert!
